The clubhouse was set to be moved 100 yards east, where the Club currently resides. The legality of the ownership of the land that the current Club sat on came into question and after engaging a lawyer from nearby Toms River, it was decided that it would be in the best interest for the future success of the Club to relocate. However, this task would require quite the amount of money. In order to raise the means for the move an amateur vaudeville show was put on at the Girard Avenue Theater in Philadelphia. This show acted as the forerunner for "Bubbles", a tradition that to this day is commemorated annually at the Club.
